A Cheerleader's Tale

Two G.L.O.R.Y. Girls living half a world apart found themselves standing across the ring from each other competing for the Pro Championship Wresting (PCW) Women's Championship during Hometown Fest in Hometown, Illinois a couple of weekends ago. Those two ladies were the visiting Sara Jay [left], who traveled from her homeland of Australia for the match, and Illinois native December [right], who many fans call Chicago's loudest and brattiest cheerleader to ever lace up a pair of wrestling boots.

We weren't in attendance for the event, but Jim Strong was there with his camera snapping the action. As for commentary, that comes from December herself...who swears that her account of the match is fair and accurate. We'll see...

I figured that I would treat my fans on G.L.O.R.Y. to my own commentary on what happened when I fought Sara Jay for the PCW Women's Championship back on July 10th. Who better to give you the straight scoop than me, right? After all, I was there...almost all of you weren't!

I knew that Sara Jay was going to be tough. She didn't fly into Chicago all the way from Australia just to go through the motions. I'm sure she wanted to take the PCW belt back to Australia with her. That didn't bother me as much as the fans. The crowd was clearly behind Sara Jay from the very beginning. What's that all about?! Isn't the crowd supposed to cheer for the hometown girl? And that's me! Stupid fans. I don't care...I'm sooooo much more popular than they will ever be. They're just jealous because I'm in the yearbook 73 times. And most of them are lucky to be in once (if they even graduated).

As soon as the match started I took control. Look at that waistlock takedown that I used to bring her to the mat [Picture #2]. You'd think I would have gotten some encouragement from the crowd, but no. They didn't cheer until Sara surprised me and knocked me off my feet with a flying shoulder tackle [ #3]. But don't worry...it didn't take long for me to make a comeback. I was choking the heck out of her in the corner and almost got her to submit, but the referee made me stop. So I spun her around and did a little stomping to her back [ #4]. And he told me to stop doing that, too! Something about not being allowed to use the ropes. Stupid ref. Yeah, like I'm going to listen to someone besides myself. But he said he'd disqualify me if I didn't break. I think he just wanted to save Sara from a quick defeat.

After getting that help from the ref--and hearing all the fans cheer her on--Sara started to rally a little. I set her up for a backdrop...but she surprised me by turning it into a sunset flip! I struggled to keep my balance [ #5] but she had just enough momentum and was able to turn it into a pinfall attempt. So I just smashed my boots together (with her head in between, of course) and broke that up. While she was still dazed, I captured her in one of my favorite submission holds: the bow and arrow [ #6]. You can't really tell from this picture, but Sara was screaming in agony. I remember laughing to myself as I wondered how all those stupid fans who were cheering for her felt now. Ha! I could swear that I heard her submit at this point. I even told the ref...but he said no. So much for being unbiased!

Tune in tomorrow for the conclusion of this PCW Title match...
