Is Skater Going Soft On Us?

By now, G.L.O.R.Y. fans know that we've had plenty to say about Australian grappler Kellie Skater. When she's been featured here in past PODs, it's been obvious that the arrogant wrestler will do whatever it takes to win...and that inevitably means that The Rate Tank resorts to stomping, kicking, choking and any other rule-breaking tactic that she can think of to come away with a win. But is Kellie Skater changing? Is the violent Aussie battler really a softie at heart? Maybe...

Take a look at what Ms. Skater will be doing tomorrow down in Melbourne. We found this on her MySpace page:

"G'day all. As some of you know I will be running in this year's "Herald Sun Run For The Kids". This is an event every year where you can pay a fee to run a 5km or 14.6km run to raise money for the "Good Friday Appeal". The Appeal raises money for the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne every year. I've set up a sponsorship page to try to raise extra money for this cause as the Royal Children's does amazing work for kids not only in Australia, but internationally. Many Aussies have been personally touched by the work the doctors have done or the research that has been done there. I will be running in the 14.6km event. What I'm asking is to support me in my run and help to raise some cash for this great cause by heading by my sponsorship page and donating if you can. I've pledged if I raise a grand I will complete this in wrestling gear (minus wrestling boots). So if this happens, it's a great chance to see me look like a complete idiot in the middle of Melbourne in front of 30,000 people. So whether you want to support a great cause or add to the chances of me looking like a tool, come donate! Cheers guys."

The run is tomorrow (Sunday, March 14th). As it turns out, Ms. Skater has been injured recently and her doctor has ordered her not to run. But that doesn't mean Kellie won't be participating. In fact, the G.L.O.R.Y. Girl will still be going the distance for the kids....walking the course rather than running. That's still a long distance to go, especially when you're injured. But Skater promises to make it all the way through...even if she has to be carried across the finish line! [ #5]

Kellie is doing the hard part. We can all do our part to help her out with a sponsorship. Click this link for Kellie Skater's Run For The Kids donation page and help her out if you can. We know that the economy is tough for everyone right now, but even if you can donate a couple of bucks it will all add up...and every little bit helps. (Besides, we want to see Skater look like a tool in the middle of Melbourne. Somebody take a picture!)
