WSU: Roxx Vs. Deeb

More from Saturday night's WSU event in Union City, New Jersey. This time Ed Darcey fills us in on the contest between G.L.O.R.Y. Girls Nikki Roxx and Serena Deeb. Trivia: How many times before today have "tonsorial concerns" been mentioned in the POD?

As is usual with WSU, they invited a number of well known and established women's wrestlers who have graced the national TV screens to appear on their show. Two such notable combatants who are well known to television audiences were both performers on previous WSU shows but had shown no particular antipathy towards one another. But such is the nature of WSU and its perceived hierarchy that these two women were bound to test their mettle against one another. From the Northeast indy scene, as well as TNA, the former voodoo queen and Killer Babe, Nikki Roxx, and from WWE developmental and the Straight Edge Society, Serena.

Having something to prove to each other, as well as the audience, the two women wasted no time in locking up. Strangely though, early on both women seemed to be inordinately concerned over their hair! (Could it have been that on previous occasions they have both sacrificed their hair for pride or to prove their fealty?) No matter, once past their initial tonsorial concerns, they settled into a steady stream of move and counter move.

These two well-established and well-trained grapplers proceeded to pound on one another for the majority of the match, exchanging one pinning maneuver for another. In the end Nikki seemed to have Serena right where she wanted her, when Roxx hit her opponent with the Voodoo Drop/Barbie Crusher. But the resilient Serena was able to kick out, barely. When Nikki attempted the move again, Serena was able to send Roxx careening into the ropes. When Nikki turned around, Serena hit her with a devastating spear, stunning Roxx and getting the pin.

Anyone who saw the match realizes that the contest was so close that the outcome could have easily been the reverse. One would assume that, barring any problems with their availability, this is not the last time we will see these two superior and committed athletes face one another.
