More Indygurlz? YES!
G.L.O.R.Y. fan Ed Darcey is back again with more action photography and details of another great match from Saturday's Indygurlz event...
Another match that had an international flavor as well as a local one at the Inygurlz show was a tag match between the NY/NJ Metro area's own The Belle Saints (up and coming stars Marti Belle and Tina San Antonio) vs. two G.L.O.R.Y. gals: Japan's Sumie Sakai and Canada's Portia Perez. While the Belle Saints may have had an edge in experience as a team, Sakai and Perez certainly had the edge in overall experience. And, while Tina and Marti are not extremely tall, they did have a size advantage over Sumie and Portia which the two international stars pointed out by bringing two chairs to the ring to stand on for their introduction, much to the amusement of the fans. (Though the chairs would prove to be useful later as well.)
The match started off well for the Saints, but when Marti was trapped by Sumie in a head scissor, Sakai was able to pin Belle in the corner where she was double teamed. When she broke free, she and Tina took it to Sakai and Perez had to make a couple of saves. When it looked like the Saints had Sumie down for the count, Portia remembered the chairs from earlier and tried to hit Marti with one. Tina grabbed the chair, but with an alert kick by Perez the chair wound up knocking San Antonio to the mat, stunned. With Portia holding Belle in the corner, Sumie was able to pin Tina for the win for the two international stars.
