Indygurlz In Action!
The Indygurlz were back in action this past Saturday afternoon and G.L.O.R.Y. Girl fan Ed Darcey was there to snap all the matches. Ed fills us in on one of the event's featured contests...
Another of the all-women promotions in New Jersey, Indygurlz has a very international flavor. One of the more hotly contested match ups on their April 16th show in Boonton was between two G.L.O.R.Y. gals who are very highly ranked in PWI's Women's Top 50: Sara del Ray (#12) and Australia's Madison Eagles (#15).
As one would have anticipated, the two seasoned veterans put on a real clinic in holds and strikes. The taller Eagles went to work on Sara's legs to keep her on the mat, while the American powerhouse used her strength to keep the Aussie tied up or send her crashing to the mat.
The end came when Madison caught del Ray attempting a flying maneuver from the top turnbuckle. Eagles got the American trapped on her shoulders and drove Sara's head and shoulder onto her knee...stunning del Ray and allowing the Aussie to get the pin. A terrific match, and one would hope for another such encounter on the next Indygurlz show (The War of the Roses) in September.
