Does SHIMMER Need A New Logo?
After seeing the first set of Wrestlin' Wally's action pictures from this past weekend's SHIMMER event in Berwyn, Illinois...he snapped over 6,000 shots, by the way!...we wonder if the federation needs a new logo. Hey, we have nothing against the snazzy, eye-catching purple and black logo that they have been using. (In fact, that's one of the reasons that we have it as a permanent link on the G.L.O.R.Y. front page.) But we're thinking that a picture of a boa constrictor might make for a more appropriate logo after seeing the way these ladies were squeezing each other inside the SHIMMER ring!
It started at the outset of the very first match Saturday when Cat Power (G.L.O.R.Y. Girl Haley Rogers) put the squeeze on poor Nikki Roxx with a rear chinlock which looked dangerously close to closing off Nik's windpipe (above). Nicole Matthews must have been watching, because she took a cue from Power and used a similar technique against Daizee Haze...crushing the blonde's skull in a side headlock (Picture #2).
Amber O'Neal went off in another direction: she relied on her strong and beautiful legs to dish out the damage as she captured Tenile in a tight figure-four leg scissors (#3). The cocky O'Neal is so confident that her opponent can't escape from the constricting hold, she even takes a little break to fix her hair for the camera!
Then there was the dastardly Melanie Cruise who didn't even bother to use a legitimate wrestling hold on her opponent (#4). She simply clamped both hands around Daffney's throat and squeezed hard in an attempt to choke the "Scream Queen" into oblivion. (By the way, both of these ladies are soon to debut...re-debut in Daffney's case...here at G.L.O.R.Y. Wrestling.
So here's our idea for the new SHIMMER logo (#5). What do you think, Dave???
