Jessie McKay vs. Madison Eagles: Partners At War!
Yesterday brought us the debut of new Australian G.L.O.R.Y. Girl Jessie McKay. Last fall, photographer Ed Darcey had the chance to catch Jessie and her partner, fellow G.L.O.R.Y. Girl Madison Eagles, as they toured some U.S. indy rings. Although they normally tag together as the Pink Ladies, Jessie and Madison tested each other in singles competition for ACE Wrestling in September. Today, we bring you Ed's description and photos of their match.
The U.S. has been invaded by a pair of statuesque brunettes from Australia. The two tall and lean grapplers from down under, collectively known as the Pink Ladies, are Madison Eagles, a G.L.O.R.Y. Gal, and her sometimes partner, sometimes foe, Jessie McKay. Scheduled to work the SHIMMER Tag Team Tournament, they have been gracing the East coast with their presence preceding the October 19, 2008 show in Chicago.
Last Saturday night they were facing each other (similar to what the Killer Babes used to do when Nikki and April were starting out together) in singles competition . Ms. Eagles, the more experienced and rougher style-wise of the two, took it right to Mckay, breaking the rules along the way. She eschewed removing her Australia t-shirt for the early part of the contest, but when McKay mounted a fierce comeback, Madison removed her t-shirt and proceeded to choke young Jessie with it. Shades of Amber O'Neal against Daffney at a recent WEW show!
Again McKay mounted a comeback, almost pinning the veteran Eagles after a sunset flip. In the end, the roughhouse tactics and rule breaking were a great help to Eagles, who caught McKay in a picture Samoan Drop slam, knocking the wind out of the youngster and getting the three count.
