Teen Rookie vs. Southern Belle
Today we take a look at a couple of ladies who, unfortunately, we haven't spotlighted enough here on the G.L.O.R.Y. Picture Of The Day: Southern favorite Misty James and teen ring sensation Kassie Rains. We're going to take care of that oversight right now. : )
It was a wild one November 14th, when teen rookie Kassie Rains met fellow G.L.O.R.Y. Girl Misty James in the SSW ring in Kingsport Tennessee. Both beautiful and athletic ladies charged to the ring ready to mix it up. Just looking at the stats, you'd have to give the edge to James in this one. A few years older, more time in the wrestling business and a height and weight advantage seemed to tip the scales in favor of the southern belle. Add to that the fact that the crowd was behind her!
With all that going for her, it's no surprise that James took the match to Rains early. Misty worked the left arm and had Kassie screaming in pain soon after the opening bell (below). Look at the full twist she puts on that limb! A whip off the ropes led to a belly shot that stunned and took the air out of Kassie. A follow-up knee to the solar plexus wiped out whatever oxygen was left in the girl's body.
Misty was on a roll and the crowd was loving every minute of it...especially when James backed her opponent into the ring ropes and lined her up for a big forehand chop. Look at the way Misty tips back Kassie's chin...opening up the teen's chest to absorb the full effect of that big blow. James seems to be enjoying the schooling she's giving to the young Miss Rains!
But things were about to change drastically and dramatically in this match. More tomorrow...
